Overexpression of sdtScer\UAS.H.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of either Scer\GAL4ninaE.PT or Scer\GAL4GMR.PF induces an increase in photoreceptor cell stalk membrane length compared with wild-type.
The length of the eye photoreceptor cell stalk membrane in flies co-expressing sdtScer\UAS.D.T:Zzzz\FLAG and sdtScer\UAS.H.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4ninaE.PT is not significantly different from that of wild-type.
Scer\GAL4GMR.PF/sdtUAS.H.Tag:FLAG is a suppressor of retina | conditional phenotype of sdt[+]/sdtK85, w1118
Scer\GAL4GMR.PF/sdtUAS.H.Tag:FLAG is a suppressor of retina | conditional phenotype of w1118
Expression of sdtScer\UAS.H.T:Zzzz\FLAG in outer photoreceptor cells under the control of Scer\GAL4ninaE.PT in sdtK85/+ or +/+ genetic background completely blocked the light induced retinal degeneration in w1118 flies. In addition, the rhabdomeres of the outer Scer\GAL4ninaE.PT-expressing photoreceptor cells are reduced in size in comparison with control flies and flies including flies kept in the dark.
