      Expression of Hsap\DEKScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU produces a rough eye phenotype. The ommatidia lack their regular hexagonal shape and appear to be fused. Missing bristles are seen. Third instar larval eye-antennal discs show a marked increase in apoptosis (TUNEL positive cells) compared with wild type.
