Heterozygous females show reduced sensitivity to ethanol intoxication compared to wild type (tested with 45% ethanol). Heterozygous males show reduced sensitivity to ethanol intoxication compared to wild type at 35% ethanol, but not at 40% or 45% ethanol.
Feeding with tyramine, but not with octopamine, largely restores normal ethanol sensitivity in heterozygous flies.
