Homozygous females show reduced sensitivity to ethanol intoxication compared to wild type (tested with 45% ethanol). Homozygous males show reduced sensitivity to ethanol intoxication compared to wild type at 35% and 40% ethanol, but not at 45% ethanol.
Feeding with tyramine, but not with octopamine, largely restores normal ethanol sensitivity in homozygous flies.
