Partial duplication of bip2. The upstream copy can potentially encode the first 679 amino acids of bip2 followed by 14 unrelated residues. In addition 21bp (comprising approximately half an Scer\SceI.RS site) have been inserted, which results in seven amino acids being inserted between amino acids 341 and 342. The downstream copy should be non-functional as it lacks a promoter and the first exon. A w+mW.hs marker (in inverted orientation with respect to direction of transcription of the bip2 sequence) is inserted between the two copies.
