UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of Abp1, which is tagged with a myristoylation motif (Tag:Myr(Src64B)) and with GFP.
Expression of Abp1Scer\UAS.T:Myr-Src64B,T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4sca.PU results in a split microchaete phenotype. The phenotype ranges from short microchaetes with multiple splits (at least 4 visible tips) to microchaetes with only one or two splits either occurring laterally or within the upper third of the microchaete. Ultrastructural analysis indicates the that split structures have a common base, with one nerve cell extension in the centre. Split microchaetae are also reduced in length compared to wild type, while the diameter at the base and volume are normal.

Co-expression of HemScer\UAS.T:Myr-Src64B enhances the split microchaete phenotype caused by expression of Abp1Scer\UAS.T:Myr-Src64B,T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4sca.PU.
