Adult DL1 projection neuron homozygous single-cell clones lack dendritic and axonal terminal arborisations.

At 18 hours after puparium formation (APF), single-cell homozygous DL1 projection neuron clones elaborate dendritic terminals similar to those of wild type in the appropriate position of the proto-antennal lobe and axonal growth is only slightly shorter than normal. However, by 50 hours APF, the dendritic arborisation has completely disappeared and axonal terminals have not extended beyond that seen at 18 hours APF.

Homozygous neuroblast clones show reduced projection neuron cell numbers compared to control clones.

Adult mushroom body γ neuron single-cell homozygous clones show a significant reduction in the number of dendritic branches and dendritic claws compared to wild type. The number of terminal axonal branches is also severely reduced in the mutant cells.
