    Detailed Description
    Statement
    Reference

Homozygous adults do not have any gross morphological abnormalities and their overall brain organisation appears similar to wild type. Phototactic behaviour and locomotor activity are normal.

Homozygous males show a defect in courtship conditioning: the courtship index of homozygous males that have previously courted non-receptive females is not significantly reduced compared to control males that have not undergone conditioning (in contrast to wild-type males, where conditioned males show a reduced courtship index compared to unconditioned controls). The training index of the homozygous males is not significantly different from that of controls, indicating that the defect is in memory rather than in learning.

    Comments

The courtship conditioning defect seen in homozygous 2mitc03963 males is rescued by expression of 2mitScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU.
