Expression of Vcho\ctxA^Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4^Bx-MS1096 results in thickened wing veins and notches along the wing margin.

Expression of Vcho\ctxA^Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4^{Myo31DF-NP0001} in the presence of Scer\GAL80^ts.αTub84B at 22[o]C (a permissive temperature for Scer\GAL80^ts.αTub84B that reduces but does not eliminate Scer\GAL4^{Myo31DF-NP0001} activity) results in emaciated flies with reduced body weight.

Flies expressing Vcho\ctxA^Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4^{Myo31DF-NP0001} during the adult stage (temperature sensitive Scer\GAL80^ts.αTub84B allele used to limit expression) show ultrastructural defects in the midgut: significant gaps and convoluted borders are seen between intestinal epithelial cells. Sucrose dye fed to the flies leaks into the body cavity, indicating that the epithelial barrier is breached.

Co-expression of Rab11^{Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP} almost completely rescues the wings defects caused by expression of Vcho\ctxA^Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4^Bx-MS1096.
