Expression of Vcho\ctxAScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 results in thickened wing veins and notches along the wing margin.

Expression of Vcho\ctxAScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4Myo31DF-NP0001 in the presence of Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B at 22[o]C (a permissive temperature for Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B that reduces but does not eliminate Scer\GAL4Myo31DF-NP0001 activity) results in emaciated flies with reduced body weight.

Flies expressing Vcho\ctxAScer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4Myo31DF-NP0001 during the adult stage (temperature sensitive Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B allele used to limit expression) show ultrastructural defects in the midgut: significant gaps and convoluted borders are seen between intestinal epithelial cells. Sucrose dye fed to the flies leaks into the body cavity, indicating that the epithelial barrier is breached.
