Description

Imprecise excision of the P{GSV6} element in P{GSV6}GS9462 has resulted in a 1305bp genomic deletion in unc79, while retaining 12bp of the P-element.

Detailed Description

unc79x25 mutant flies exhibit severe defects in anticipatory behaviour and free-running rhythmicity in comparison to wild type flies. Similarly strong phenotypes are seen in unc79x25/Df(3R)ED5942 mutant flies.

unc79x25/+ males do not exhibit significant behavioural rhythmicity defects in DD conditions (constant darkness) in comparison with wild type controls.

unc79x25/unc80x42 males do not exhibit significant DD (constant darkness) behavioural rhythmicity defects compared to wild type controls.

nae04385/+;; unc79x25/+ flies do not exhibit strong behavioural rhythmicity deficits in DD conditions (constant darkness) compared to single heterozygotes.

Expression of naScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4tim.PE does not suppress the circadian behaviour defects seen in unc79x25 mutant flies.

Expression of unc80Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4tim.PE does not suppress the circadian behaviour defects seen in unc79x25 mutant flies.

Co-expression of naScer\UAS.cLa and unc80Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4tim.PE does not suppress the circadian behaviour defects seen in unc79x25 mutant flies.

Comments

Expression of unc79Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4tim.PE strongly rescues the circadian behaviour defects seen in unc79x25 mutant flies in both DD (constant darkness) and LD (12 hour light: 12 hour dark) conditions.

Expression of unc79f01615 under the control of Scer\GAL4tim.PE rescues the circadian behavior defects seen in unc79x25/unc79f01615 mutant flies.
