Pan-tracheal expression of watScer\UAS.cJa under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS results in normal liquid clearance in 90% of stage 17 embryos. When watScer\UAS.cJa expression is limited to the dorsal trunk cells using Scer\GAL4salm.TE a normal wild type phenotype is seen in 50% of embryos. If watScer\UAS.cJa is expressed in the dorsal branch and lateral trunk cells of the tracheal system under the control of Scer\GAL4kni.TE only ~4% of embryos exhibit normal liquid clearance.
