      Homozygous PNUTS9B animals develop to 1st instar larvae but then die in the ensuing 8 days without further growth and development.

      Eyes of heterozygous PNUTS9B flies resemble wild-type. Flies with eyes homozygous for PNUTS9B are reduced in size, with fewer and poorly organised ommatidia.
