Detailed Description

Homozygous PNUTS13B animals develop to 1st instar larvae but then die in the ensuing 8 days without further growth and development.

Eyes of heterozygous PNUTS13B flies resemble wild-type. Flies with eyes homozygous for PNUTS13B are reduced in size, with fewer and poorly organised ommatidia.

Induction of PNUTS13B homozygous somatic clones in 1st instar larvae does not generate clonal patches, while wild-type twin-spot clones generate a large clonal patch.

Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

PNUTS13B clones induced in a RpL27A1 heterozygous background span the entire wing disc epithelium, indicating that they are not eliminated, as in a wild-type background. However, these mutant clones colonised a significantly smaller area of RpL27A1/+ discs compared with wild-type clones, indicating that they are still growth impaired.
