    Vps11LL06553 garland cells show increased numbers of autophagosomes (endogenous Atg8a-positive puncta), as compared to controls.

    Vps11LL06553/Vps11LL06553 mutant larvae do not exhibit hemocyte-derived melanotic tumors, but do exhibit enlargement of late endosomes and enlarged vacuoles with multiple dense cores in garland nephrocytes, as compared to controls.

    Autolysosome formation is inhibited in the fat body cells of starved CG32350LL06553 mutant wandering third instar larvae. Large number of autophagosomes are observed. Numerous dense organelles are seen, which are usually round and smaller than the autolysosomes observed in controls. A subset of these vesicles contain recognisable remnants of cytoplasmic material, such as mitochondrion.
