      Flies expressing NLazScer\UAS.cRa under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU show a moderate increase in survival after exposure to paraquat compared to controls at 3 days of age. At 30 days of age, the mutant flies show a 13.6% increase in median survival and a 40.2% increase in maximal survival compared to controls after exposure to paraquat.

      Expression of NLazScer\UAS.cRa under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU rescues the reduced longevity of NLazNW5 flies seen in the absence of added stress and also rescues survival of 3 day old NLazNW5 flies exposed to paraquat or to starvation-dessication stress.

      Expression of NLazScer\UAS.cRa under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU rescues the reduced courtship index of NLazNW5 males.
