Contains EndoA with a Tag:CALI(4C) tag inserted between the BAR and SH3 domains. The presence of the Tag:CALI(4C) tag means that FlAsH-mediated fluorescein-assisted light inactivation can be used to inactivate the protein produced.
EndoAΔ4 heterozygotes containing a copy of EndoAT:Zzzz\4C are viable. In these individuals, light-induced inactivation of EndoAT:Zzzz\4C at the presynaptic region of third instar larval neuromuscular junctions results in significant decreases in the local level of endocytosis and in the local formation of autophagosomes (detected as fluorescent Atg8 puncta in confocal microscopy images) in response to electric-stimulation, as compared to 'non-inactivated' and wild-type controls.
EndoAT:Zzzz\4C rescues the lethality of EndoAEP927.
