Description

A full-length deletion of the Trap1 locus resulting from imprecise excision of the P-element.

Imprecise excision of the P{EPgy2}Trap1EY10238 progenitor insertion, which removes the entire Trap1 coding sequence and part of the 5' UTR.

Detailed Description

5 day old mutant brains show increased reactive oxygen species. Mitochondrial distribution is not significantly altered.

Young mutant males, but not females, are significantly more susceptible to oxidative stress (paraquat exposure) compared to controls.

In both male and female mutants, survival after heat shock applied at 19 days of age is significantly decreased compared to controls.

The lifespan of male and female mutants is not significantly different from controls.

Locomotor performance in mutant flies is moderately decreased at older age compared to controls.

Mutant females show severely compromised fecundity at all age-points, and mutant males appear to be less fertile than controls.
