      Cardiac-specific (Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4) overexpression of p53Scer\UAS.cUa causes significant slowing of heart period and structural cardiac defects (similar to those seen in Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4>ScoxGD898 flies).

      Flies with co-expression of p53Scer\UAS.cUa along with Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4>ScoxGD898 have no heartbeat and show significant heart degeneration, with complete loss of cardiac myofibrils.
