Expression of ScrΔDYTQL.CTD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PU results in ectopic T1 beards. Ectopic tarsi are seen when ScrΔDYTQL.CTD.Scer\UAS is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.PU.
The antennae of flies expressing ScrΔDYTQL.CTD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4pb.PJ are not wild type but do not exhibit an obvious transformation to proboscis identity. Patches of tricombless, convoluted cuticle are seen at higher temperatures.
Scer\GAL4pb.PJ, ScrΔDYTQL.CTD.UAS, pbUAS.EGFP has proboscis | ectopic phenotype
Scer\GAL4pb.PJ, ScrΔDYTQL.CTD.UAS, pb27/pb20 has proboscis | ectopic phenotype
Co-expression of ScrΔDYTQL.CTD.Scer\UAS and pbScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4pb.PJ results in a strong transformation of the antenna to proboscis. This phenotype is seen at room temperature or 28.5[o]C. Tricombless cuticle is also seen in the maxillary palp. No evidence of a labial cap and chemosensory bristles is observed in theses patches of tricombless cuticle.
Expression of ScrΔDYTQL.CTD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4pb.PJ in a pb27/pb20 mutant background results in an antenna to proboscis transformation: deformed antennae with patches of tricombless, convoluted cuticle are seen. Tricombless cuticle is also seen in the pb27/pb20 mutant vestigial maxillary palp. No evidence of a labial cap and chemosensory bristles is observed in theses patches of tricombless cuticle.
