UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a mutant form of Scr lacking the LASCY motif (amino acids 18-21), DYTQL motif (a D111Q substitution and deletion of amino acids 112-118), NANGE motif (replacement of residues 316-319 (STVN) with alanines), TS motif (replacement of residues 329 and 330 with alanines) and CTD domain (deletion of amino acids 388-390).
Expression of ScrΔLASCY.DYTQL.NANGE.TS.CTD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PU results in ectopic T1 beards. Ectopic tarsi are seen when ScrΔLASCY.DYTQL.NANGE.TS.CTD.Scer\UAS is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.PU.
Co-expression of ScrΔLASCY.DYTQL.NANGE.TS.CTD.Scer\UAS and pbScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4pb.PJ results in weak transformation of the antenna to proboscis in some flies.
