Description

Scer\FRT-mediated recombination between the two progenitor insertions PBac{RB}subduede02779 and PBac{RB}subduede01958 has deleted the sequence between them, resulting in a 5265bp deletion that removes most of the exons (and all of the transmembrane domains) of subdued.

Homozygotes show partial lethality at the pupal stage. Adult escapers are partially sterile, but are morphologically normal and have normal walking and flying behaviour.

subduedΔ5265/Df(3R)Exel6184 larvae show a normal response to gentle touch.

Homozygous adults show normal geotactic climbing ability.

subduedΔ5265/Df(3R)Exel6184 larvae and adults show an impaired nociceptive heat response.

Comments

The impaired nociceptive heat response seen in subduedΔ5265/Df(3R)Exel6184 larvae and adults is rescued by expression of subduedScer\UAS.cJa under the control of Scer\GAL4109(2)80.
