Expression of miple1Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of either Scer\GAL4hs.2sev or Scer\GAL4GMR.PU generates an ommatidial rotation eye development phenotype.

Expression of miple1Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU results in a clear rough eye phenotype, in which tangential sections display rotation defects but mainly defects in photoreceptor recruitment. This phenotype is dosage-sensitive, as it is markedly suppressed by reducing miple1 expression through expression of miple1GD4826.

Expression of miple1Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4twi.PG results in a loss of pericardial and cardiac cells in 1-2 cells in embryos at later developmental stages. The somatic musculature is also affected, with a lack of muscles in 1-2 segments, especially at the dorsal aspects of the embryo.
