The R19C10 enhancer fragment is fused upstream of the Drosophila synthetic core promoter (DSCP) followed by the GAL4(DBD)::Zip- hemidriver (component of the 'Split GAL4' system, contains the GAL4 DNA-binding domain). A Hsp70 transcriptional terminator is present.

Inhibition (using Hsap\KCNJ2UAS.EGFP) of neurons targeted by the split-GAL4 pair of Scer\GAL4DBD.R19C10 and Hsap\RELAAD.R11D03 in adult females increases flight turning responses to very low-frequency motion stimuli, without affecting responses to higher frequency motion, compared to controls; inhibited cells show normal overall morphology.
Silencing of Lawf2 lamina neurons, using Hsap\RELAAD.R11D03.T:Zzzz\Zip+, Scer\GAL4DBD.R19C10.T:Zzzz\Zip- and Hsap\KCNJ2Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP, results in enhancement of reverse-optomotor inversion at high speeds.
