Expression of X11LdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of the mushroom body driver Scer\GAL4ey-OK107 does not cause structural phenotypes in the larval mushroom body. However, lobe defects are seen in the adult brain.
Scer\GAL4ey-OK107, X11LRNAi.UAS.cGa, shiK44A.UAS has mushroom body vertical lobe | temperature conditional phenotype
Scer\GAL4ey-OK107, X11LRNAi.UAS.cGa, shiK44A.UAS has mushroom body medial lobe | temperature conditional phenotype
Pan-neuronal silencing of X11LdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cGa and X11LβdsRNA.Scer\UAS, under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU results in early to mid-third instar larval lethality.
Flies expressing X11LdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cGa and shiK44A.Scer\UAS in the mushroom body, under the control of Scer\GAL4ey-OK107, are embryonic lethal, indicating a robust genetic interaction between X11L and shi. Raising these flies at a lower temperature (so reducing expression of these transgenes) results in viable flies, displaying aberrant anatomical development of the medial and dorsal lobes.
