When olf186-FE180A.Scer\UAS is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4ple.PF, store operated calcium entry is significantly reduced in both larval and pupal dopaminergic neurons compared with wild-type. Expression of olf186-FE180A.Scer\UAS does not affect store calcium release in dopaminergic neurons.

Expression of olf186-FE180A.Scer\UAS in either aminergic neurons (using Scer\GAL4Ddc.PU) or dopaminergic neurons (using Scer\GAL4ple.PF) engenders the complete loss of flight and flight-induced action potentials from dorsal longitudinal muscles. Expression of olf186-FE180A.Scer\UAS in serotonergic neurons (using Scer\GAL4Trh.PU) does not affect flight. General motor function is not impaired by expression of olf186-FE180A.Scer\UAS in dopaminergic neurons, as evident by their ability to climb normally.

Flies with olf186-FE180A.Scer\UAS expression (using Scer\GAL4ple.TH-C') in THC' dopaminergic neuron sub-domain can fly normally.

Pupal expression of olf186-FE180A.Scer\UAS in dopaminergic neurons results in complete loss of flight.

Normal flight bouts are observed upon restricting the expression of olf186-FE180A.Scer\UAS to either larval or adult stages.
