        Blocking neural transmission in neurons co-expressing Hsim\VP16AD.0980.w- and Scer\GAL4DBD.0987.w- (referred to as splitL4-Gal4) does not result in defects in turning responses to rotational visual motion.

        Blocking neural transmission in neurons co-expressing Hsim\VP16AD.0980.w- and Scer\GAL4DBD.0987.w- (referred to as splitL4-Gal4) does not affect the modulation of forward walking speed in response to translational motion seen in controls. No defects are seen in behavioral responses that do not contain motion cues. Silencing L4 neurons results in a diminished startle response to no-motion control stimuli.
