Imprecise excision of P{(-loxP)(-FRT)Flipper2}ap^MM has resulted in a 776bp deletion that removes the transcription start sties of the A and B transcripts of ap. The terminal 17bp pf the P-element foot are left between the breakpoints.

No wings are seen in ap^t11b/ap^DG3 mutant flies.

No wings are seen in ap^t11b/ap^DG8 flies.

Approximately 20% of Df(2R)DG/ap^t11b wings appear normal. Among the rest, wings displaying an enlarged posterior department are seen frequently. Wing margin is well formed. The posterior compartment is often overgrown in in imaginal wing discs.
