An approximately 44-kb deletion between two FRT sites located in PBac{WH}apf08090 and PBac{RB}e01573. A large part of the ap transcription unit is lost together with approximately 27-kb of intergenic DNA separating ap from l(2)09851. A considerable part of the ap open reading frame (ORF) located proximal to the break in apDG3 remains in place.
Scer\FRT-mediated recombination between the two progenitor insertions has deleted ~44.1 kb of sequence between them.
