Description

An approximately 44-kb deletion between two FRT sites located in PBac{WH}apf08090 and PBac{RB}e01573. A large part of the ap transcription unit is lost together with approximately 27-kb of intergenic DNA separating ap from l(2)09851. A considerable part of the ap open reading frame (ORF) located proximal to the break in apDG3 remains in place.

apDG3/apMM flies have normal wings and halteres.

Homozygous apDG3 and apDG3/Df(2R)BSC696 flies display a complete loss of all wing and haltere structures. The bristle pattern is aberrant and the size of the dorsal thorax is reduced in apDG3/Df(2R)BSC696 mutants.

apDG/apDG3 flies lack all wing and haltere structures.

apDG11/apDG3 flies lack all wing and haltere structures.

The wing tissue of apXa/apDG3 flies forms a short tube-like structure. Margin bristles are absent except for sometimes a few at the tip.

The dimension of the wing pouch in apXa/apDG3 animals is reduced to about half the size of a wild-type pouch.

apRXaDad52.4/apDG3 flies have tube-like wing stumps which lack wing margin completely except for the occasional occurrence of a few margin hairs at the very tip.

apDad52.4/apDG3 flies have tube-like wing stumps which lack wing margin completely except for the occasional occurrence of a few margin hairs at the very tip.

apP/apDG3 flies do not develop any wing or haltere tissue.

Most of the wing margin, the alula and the hinge region are poorly formed in apY/apDG3 mutants.

Most of the wing margin, the alula and the hinge region are poorly formed in apR/apDG3 mutants.

Most of the wing margin, the alula and the hinge region are poorly formed in apRXa/apDG3 mutants.

No wing phenotypes are seen in apDG3 heterozygotes.

No wings are seen in apDG2/apDG3 mutant flies.

No wings are seen in Df(2R)apDG16/apDG3 mutant flies.

No wings are seen in Df(2R)ap12.1/apDG3 mutant flies.

No wings are seen in Df(2R)apDG15/apDG3 mutant flies.

Defects are seen at the dorsoventral boundary of apf00451/apDG3 mutant flies.

No wings are seen in apDG8/apDG3 mutant flies.

No wings are seen in apDG11/apDG3 mutant flies.

No wings are seen in apt11b/apDG3 mutant flies.

In apc2.73c/apDG3 mutant flies only small wing and haltere stumps form.

In apc1.2b/apDG3 mutant flies only small wing and haltere stumps form.

The wings of apc1.60c/apDG3 mutant flies exhibit notches along the wing margin.

No wings are seen in apDG6/apDG3 mutant flies.

No wings are seen in apDG12/apDG3 mutant flies.

apDG14/apDG3 mutant flies form wing stumps of almost normal length but wing margin formation is severely impaired.

ap11.1/apDG3 mutant flies have notched wings.

ap34.1/apDG3 mutant flies have notched wings.

No wing tissue is formed in apattPΔEnh/apDG3 flies.

No wing defects are seen in apC12345/apDG3 mutant flies.

No wing defects are seen in apC235/apDG3 flies.

No wing defects are seen in apC25/apDG3 flies.

Wing defects are seen in apC25/apDG3 flies. Long wing stumps with defective wing margin and hinge are formed.

No wing tissue is formed in apC5/apDG3 flies.

Wing defects are seen in apC1234/apDG3 flies. Long wing stumps with defective wing margin and hinge are formed.

No wing defects are seen in apC52/apDG3 flies.

No wing defects are seen in apC15342/apDG3 flies.
