A to T nucleotide substitution 3bp into exon two causing a stop codon at amino acid 389. (Revision of data reported in FBrf0230407).
Transcript levels are reduced compared to wild type; no band representing either a wild type or truncated translated product is detected on a Western blot.

Mcm10K389stop/Df(2L)Exel6047 are viable and do not show increased adult mortality rates compared to heterozygote controls. Mcm10K389stop/Df(2L)Exel6047 have reduced female fecundity.
Percentage of Mcm10K389stop/Df(2L)Exel6047 embryos hatching is increased with wild type maternal (and slightly by paternal) allele donation.
Mcm10K389stop/Df(2L)Exel6047 are seen in early embryonic cell cycle stages significantly more than wild type, most mutant pre-gastrulating embryos have chromosome fragmentation and females have similar egg deposition numbers and ovaries compared to wild type. Though gross ovary morphology is normal in Mcm10K389stop/Df(2L)Exel6047 females, there are defects in vitellogenic follicles, including abnormal yolk accumulation and multilayered and disorganized somatic cells.
Df(2L)Exel6047/Mcm10K389stop is partially rescued by Scer\GAL4VP16.nanos.UTR/Mcm10UAS.cRa
Mcm10Scer\UAS.cRa driven by Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 fails to rescue reduced fecundity and partially rescues percentage of embryos hatching and early embryonic cell cycle deficiencies in Mcm10K389stop/Df(2L)Exel6047 female flies
