Mcm10SJ is the result of a G to A change at the first base of the intron (i.e. 1,162bp downstream of the Mcm10 ATG). This change is thought to result in read through into the intron until a stop codon is encountered 1,191bp downstream of the ATG, generating a 389aa protein.
Mcm10K389stop is as an A to T nucleotide substitution 3bp into exon two of Mcm10 causing a stop codon at amino acid 389.
The allele Mcm10FS is the result of the insertion of a G 1,596bp downstream of the Mcm10 ATG (placement shown below). The insertion of this G results in a frameshift that causes a stop codon 10 amino acids downstream of the insertion. Therefore this allele produces a 522aa protein, which removes 254aa from the C-terminal end of Mcm10.
