Description

UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of a mutant form of Rab3 which carries the amino acid replacement Y83A. This mutation is predicted to disrupt interactions that involve the Rab3 'Switch II' region (mutation is within the β3α2 loop part of this region).

      Active zones are similar to wild type at the neuromuscular junction (NMJ) of third instar larvae (more posterior segments, 5 and 6) with expression of Rab3Y83A.Scer\UAS driven by Scer\GAL4elav.Switch.PO (females maintained on fly food with RU486 for 2 days before mating and egg-laying on RU486 food).
