      Activation of Scer\GAL4AstC.PM-positive neurons (by the expression of TrpA1UAS.(B).cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4AstC.PM) leads to decreased female fecundity, with fewer mature eggs produced and laid; there is also increased egg retention/decreased oviposition; activation in brain clones (induced by Scer\FLP1FLPo.oc.Tag:NLS(SV40-largeT)) also leads to a decrease in the number of mature eggs in the ovary.
