Over-expression of four copies of SCCRO3Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in an increase in eye size. Over-expression of SCCRO3Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC driven by Scer\GAL4ptc.PU significantly increases cell number though there is no change in the distance between wing veins L3 and L4 due to significantly reduced cell size compared to controls. Over-expression of SCCRO3Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC driven by Scer\GAL4ptc.PU leads to supernumerary macrochaetae on the notum.

Co-expression of SCCRO3Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC partially suppresses the small rough eye phenotype seen in flies with expression of SCCRO4Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF. Co-expression of SCCROScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 and SCCRO3Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC leads to more severe eye phenotypes than seen with expression of SCCROScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 or SCCRO3Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC alone (driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF). Co-expression of SCCRO3Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC partially suppresses the reduction in distance between L3 and L4 in the wing blade (but does not suppress the decreases in cell size, and suppresses the decreases in cell number even increasing them above control levels) of flies with expression of SCCRO4Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC driven by Scer\GAL4ptc.PU. Co-expression of SCCROScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 and SCCRO3Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC leads to significant increases in distance between L3 and L4 in the wing blade, along with significant increases in cell number (no changes in cell size) than is seen with expression of SCCROScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 or SCCRO3Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC alone (driven by Scer\GAL4ptc.PU).
