Over-expression of one copy of SCCRO4Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in smaller, rough eyes at room temperature (over-expression of four copies leads to smaller eyes with severe roughness and dark pigmentation on the surface of some ommatidia). Over-expression of SCCRO4Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC driven by Scer\GAL4ptc.PU significantly decreases cell number and cell size and significantly reduces the distance between wing veins L3 and L4, compared to controls. Over-expression of SCCRO4Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC driven by Scer\GAL4ptc.PU leads to missing and smaller macrochaetae on the notum. Clones from third instar larval eye discs with SCCRO4Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC over-expression show increases in apoptosis.

Co-expression of SCCROScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 but not SCCRODAD.Scer\UAS suppresses the small rough eye phenotype and wing phenotypes seen in flies with expression of SCCRO4Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF. Co-expression of SCCRO3Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC partially suppresses the small rough eye phenotype seen in flies with expression of SCCRO4Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.
