Amino acid replacement: G219E.
G29800553A
G219E | Drice-PA
G219E
Site of nucleotide substitution in mutant inferred by FlyBase based on reported amino acid change.
DriceC2/DriceC2 flies are viable and have wing clearance defects (similar to those seen in Drice17 or DriceΔ1). 28hrs after puparium formation (APF), apoptosis removes excess interommatidial cells in controls: this cell death is lost in DriceC2/DriceC2 mutant clones in the pupal retina. Mutants do not show disruption of lattice symmetry in the retina at 42hr APF.
Drice[+]/DriceC2 is an enhancer of increased cell death | larval stage phenotype of rprGMR.PW
Drice[+]/DriceC2 is an enhancer of eye disc | larval stage phenotype of rprGMR.PW
Drice17/DriceC2 (but not Drice17/+) significantly suppresses the eye ablation phenotype in hidGMR.PG flies. DriceΔ1/DriceC2 (but not DriceΔ1/+) significantly suppresses the eye ablation phenotype in rprGMR.PW flies. DriceC2/+ significantly enhances the eye ablation phenotype in rprGMR.PW flies. DriceC2/+ significantly enhances the increased cell death seen in rprGMR.PW larval eye discs.
Behaves as a gain of function allele in the heterozygous condition and as a loss of function allele in the homozygous condition.
