Ubr3^A hemizygotes die as first instar larvae.

Ubr3^A/Ubr3^A mutant clones exhibit increased apoptosis, and show delayed differentiation of photoreceptors in the morphogenetic furrow of eye imaginal discs.

Adult flies carrying Ubr3^A mutant clones in the Johnston's organ display significant reduction in the sound evoked potentials in electroantennogram measurements.
