UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of a fusion protein that consists of the N-terminal part of Pi3K92E (including the Pi3K21B binding domain) fused to the C-terminal part of the Hsap\PIK3CD p37δ isoform.
Over-expression of Pi3K92E::Hsap\PIK3CDDp37.Scer\UAS driven by Scer\GAL4da.PU results in significant increases in the weight of male flies (around 22% heavier than controls), due to increases in total cell number (as measured by the significant increase in the average DNA content of flies); these effects are significantly higher when expression of Pi3K92E::Hsap\PIK3CDDp37.Scer\UAS is driven, compared to expression of Pi3K92EN.Scer\UAS. Over-expression of Pi3K92E::Hsap\PIK3CDDp37.Scer\UAS driven by Scer\GAL4da.PU does not significantly alter lifespan compared to controls.

Co-expression of Pi3K92E::Hsap\PIK3CDDp37.Scer\UAS suppresses embryonic lethality seen with expression of Pi3K21BScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 driven by Scer\GAL4da.PU.
Co-expression of Pi3K92E::Hsap\PIK3CDDp37.Scer\UAS suppresses the small body phenotype in larvae with expression of Pi3K21BScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 driven by Scer\GAL4da.PU, but larvae remain developmentally delayed and retain fat body abnormalities.
