Eyes of adult flies expressing a single copy of Zzzz\Tax-1^{Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC} under the control of Scer\GAL4^GMR.PFa show a rough-eye phenotype, which appears as a perturbation of the normal crystalline array of the ommatidia, with fused ommatidial structures, as well as lost and duplicated bristles in some instances. Expression of two copies of Zzzz\Tax-1^{Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC} significantly enhances the eye phenotype.

Upon Zzzz\Tax-1^{Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC} expression in plasmatocytes under the control of Scer\GAL4^Pxn.PS, a robust and statistically significant increase in hemocyte numbers is observed compared with wild-type.
