The regeneration-associated proliferation normally observed in adult midgut upon Pseudomonas entomophila enteric infection is inhibited by cicΔC2.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 expression: the growth of somatic intestinal stem cell flip-out clones expressing cicΔC2.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP5130 in which all the progeny of the intestinal stem cells born during the regeneration period are visibly marked (using tub-Gal80[ts] to limit the time of expression/clone induction) is significantly reduced compared to controls.

cicΔC2.UAS.Tag:HA, Scer\GAL4NP5130 is a suppressor | partially of intestinal stem cell | somatic clone | adult stage phenotype of Ras85DV12.S35.UAS, Scer\GAL4NP5130
The increase in the adult midgut intestinal stem cell proliferation characteristic for flies expressing either pntP1.Scer\UAS or pntP2.Scer\UASunder the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP5130 (using tub-Gal80[ts] to limit the time of the transgene expression) is not suppressed by co-expression of cicΔC2.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1.
The overgrowth and increased mitotic rate of intestinal stem cell somatic flip-out clones expressing btl::EgfrScer\UAS.T:λ\cI-DD under the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP5130 (using tub-Gal80[ts] to limit the time of expression/clone induction) in the adult midgut is suppressed by co-expression of cicΔC2.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1; the number of mitotic cells per adult midgut is even lower than in wild-type.
