Selective pan-neuronal inactivation of caz by expressing P1\creScer\UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 in a cazlox background results in some P-stage lethality attributable to the inability of adult flies to eclose from the pupal case, with a subset of adult escapers that exhibit severe motor defects in a negative geotaxis climbing assay and significantly reduced lifespan, as compared to controls.
