      Df(2L)HisC homozygotes carrying the His2AHisGU.4K-4R transgene arrest development at the end of embryogenesis but show no detectable defects on their cuticle.

      Clones of His2AHisGU.4K-4R mutant cells differentiate to normal epidermal structures in the cuticle of adult flies and display no bristle defects.
