Description

The Mi{MIC} RMCE cassette in Mi{MIC}Nc73EF^MI06026 is replaced by a T2A-GAL cassette (includes a splice acceptor, linker, ribosomal skipping T2A peptide sequence, Scer\GAL4 coding sequence, polyadenylation signal and a splice donor) in a common coding intron of Nc73EF; also functions as a Scer\GAL4 under the endogenous Nc73EF promoter.

The RMCE cassette of the Mi{MIC}Nc73EF^MI06026 insertion has been replaced with a Trojan-GAL4 cassette. The insertion is in within the coding intron of all annotated transcripts of Nc73EF and is predicted to express GAL4 in the same pattern as Nc73EF.

A neurodegenerative disorder has been ascribed to a mutation in the OGDH gene (a human ortholog of Nc73EF) in a patient. Mutations in three known disease-related genes have also been identified in this patient but their known clinical symptoms do not match the phenotype of the patient.
