The first coding exon of Tusp has been deleted and replaced with GAL4 coding sequences.
In contrast to wild-type controls, TuspG homozygous as well as TuspG/Df(3R)Tusp-D transheterozygous adult flies display heat-shock (40[o]C, 5min) induced paralysis (indicative of neuronal function defects) and require up to 20 min to recover.
TuspG is rescued by Scer\GAL4Tusp-G/TuspUAS.cYa
The heat-shock induced paralytic phenotype characteristic for TuspG homozygous adults is rescued by expression of TuspScer\UAS.cYa under the control of Scer\GAL4Tusp-G (= the inherent Gal4 in the TuspG allele).
