      Comments

      The loss of pole cells and patterning defects (assessed by no. of ftz stripes) characteristic for embryos from vas1 homozygous mothers is partially rescued in progeny from vas1;vasΔ15-75.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP females: the loss of pole cells is not restored but the patterning defects are ameliorated.

      The reduced number of eggs laid by vasPH165 homozygous females as well as the dorsal appendage defects in the eggs produced are improved by maternal combination with vasW660E.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP.
