Expressing forUAS.T1 under the control of Scer\GAL4for.pr1 (but not Scer\GAL4for.pr2, Scer\GAL4for.pr3 or Scer\GAL4for.pr4) in a for0/for0 background results in a longer travel path during feeding in third instar larvae compared to for0/for0 controls, while expression under the control of Scer\GAL4for.pr4 (but not Scer\GAL4for.pr1, Scer\GAL4for.pr2 or Scer\GAL4for.pr3) in a for0/for0 background increases food intake in larvae compared to for0/for0 controls.

for0 homozygotes die in late pupal stage.

The for0;for+tBAC rescue larvae as well as fors;for+tBAC larvae show increased travel path length during feeding and higher food intake compared to for0 homozygotes. Dp(2;2)for-dup mutant larvae also show significantly increased path length as well as higher food consumption relative to for0. for0/forR transheterozygotes display longer travel path and reduced food intake compared to for0/fors.
