Description

A 5.1kb fragment comprising the entire H coding region and some of the 5' and 3' UTR sequences has been deleted and replaced by sequence corresponding to a single attP site and a single loxP site. Generated by excision of the loxP cassette present in HattP.w+.

Detailed Description

HmutNLS3 heterozygous adults exhibit mild but significant loss of bristles in the head and thorax. Homozygous wing discs show a nearly complete absence of sensory organ precursors.

HattP/+ flies lack several macrochaetae or display shaft to socket transformations, homozygous mutant larvae developed enlarged wing imaginal discs that contain no or sporadic sensory organ precursors.

Adult HCfs heterozygous mutants display bristle defects with, on average, 12 (out of 40 present in wild-type) of the large head and thorax bristles affected as well as shortened wing vein L5.

Hcwt, Su(H)attP double-heterozygotes, HmutNLS1, Su(H)attP double-heterozygotes, HmutNLS2, Su(H)attP double-heterozygotes, HmutNLS1NLS2, Su(H)attP double-heterozygotes or HmutNES, Su(H)attP double-heterozygotes do not show loss of sensory bristles in the head and thorax.

The wing notching phenotype of Df(1)N-54l9/+ heterozygotes is largely suppressed if they are also heterozygous for HattP.

The vein thickening and vein deltas characteristic for HattP/+ adults is partially suppressible by combination with a single copy of HattP.
