The GMR29G05 enhancer fragment followed by the Drosophila synthetic core promoter (DSCP) is fused upstream of the p65(AD)::Zip+ hemidriver (component of a 'split driver' system, contains the p65 activation domain).

Inhibition (using shi1.UAS at 33[o]C) of neurons targeted by the split-GAL4 pair of Scer\GAL4DBD.R37G11 and Hsap\RELAAD.R29G05 in adults during testing significantly impairs immediate, 3-hour and long-term aversive olfactory memory, compared to controls, with no effect on naive avoidance of training odors; this inhibition also significantly reduces innate attraction to apple cider vinegar and ethyl acetate, but not isoamyl acetate, compared to controls.
