UAS regulates expression of a chimeric construct encoding the VP16 transactivation domain fused to the ich DNA-binding domain (from RE65372 cDNA), with a Tag:FLAG tag and the Tag:NLS(SV40-largeT) nuclear localization signal fused to the N-terminus.

      The discontinuous seamless tube phenotype observed in terminal tracheal cell clones mutant for ich206 in mosaic third instar larvae is strongly rescued by Scer\GAL4btl.PS-driven expression of ichDBD.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG.T:SV40\nls-largeT.T:Hsim\VP16 : the proportion of ich206 terminal cells with seamless tube discontinuities is dramatically decreased.
