Fic30C homozygosity alone or in combination with the expression of either FicScer\UAS.T:SV5\V5.T:Zzzz\His6 or FicH375A.Scer\UAS.T:SV5\V5.T:Zzzz\His6 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 is viable and adults have no externally visible phenotypes; Fic30C homozygosity in combination with the expression of FicE247G.Scer\UAS.T:SV5\V5.T:Zzzz\His6 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 is lethal.

Fic30C homozygotes that also express FicE247G.Scer\UAS.T:SV5\V5.T:Zzzz\His6 alone under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.long display a severe rough eye phenotype, whereas those that also express FicE247G.I271D.Scer\UAS.T:SV5\V5.T:Zzzz\His6 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.long are lethal.

Fic30C homozygous third instar larval eye discs expressing FicE247G.Scer\UAS.T:SV5\V5.T:Zzzz\His6, but not FicScer\UAS.T:SV5\V5.T:Zzzz\His6, under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.long show a strong increase in apoptosis in the third instar larval eye disc, as compared to Fic30C homozygotes or to wild-type individuals.
